Profile

Pushing the boundaries of what being a lawyer really means, at TLT we set out to be something different, creating a new type of law firm… and we encourage you to be different too.

Combining traditional legal practice with an innovative and commercially-agile mindset, we help our clients succeed by creating solutions alongside providing them with expert advice. Our sector approach is key, we aren’t just knowledgeable about our client’s business, but the whole industry in which they operate, helping them to make comprehensive and trusted decisions.

We are an ambitious and growing firm, with our people at the heart of it, driving us forward. Law is a social industry, built on people connecting, and we pride ourselves on having a great culture with lawyers that our clients want to do business with repeatedly We have award-winning teams, over 60 of our lawyers are ranked as “Leaders in their Field”, and a recognised development programme.

We empower our trainees to embrace their differences, share their experience and voice their ideas. This gives you an ambitious platform to launch your legal career. Your tailored training programme provides opportunities for you to gain technical legal knowledge, business development experience, regular client contact and soft skills training. We believe that well-rounded trainees make the best lawyers.

Training Contract

Our recognised Training Programme combines the two most important aspects of our business: our clients and our people. From your very first day you will get involved with real client work and have plenty of client contact, even progressing to running your own cases.

As part of the ‘new wave’ of law firms, we encourage our solicitors to become legal business advisors. You’ll develop the necessary skills and experience to become free thinkers, finding commercially viable solutions for your clients, not just driving processes.

Our Trainee Supervisors undergo regular training to ensure that they are equipping you with technical legal knowledge and honing your commerciality. Alongside the training that you receive in-seat, we encourage you to attend our Trainee Development Workshops, where you will gain an understanding of how to grow your personal brand, learn the broad range of skills necessary for business development and forming client relationships, and give you time to reflect on your mental wellbeing and build your resilience.

Vacation Scheme

Our vacation scheme, whether virtual or in person, is the best way to really understand what it’s like to work for us here at TLT.

You will join us for up to one week in a team of your choice, working on real client matters, attending meetings and being immersed in TLT life. You will also have the opportunity to socialise with our trainees and network with our lawyers, giving you an authentic insight into our work and culture.

As our vacation scheme is one route to a training contract with us, assessments will take place throughout the week in the form of a presentation (on a topic of your choice), a strengths-based interview and the opportunity to get involved in our solution-based hackathon.
