Traineeships
Trainees are the heart of the firm, working with senior teams from the beginning of their traineeship. They are exposed early on to the strategic and commercial issues facing clients and learn from top tier lawyers, gaining knowledge from the best in the business.

The in-depth training programme at the firm includes Professional Education and Training (PEAT 2) sessions, basic skills training and divisional training. There are also opportunities to attend commercial awareness seminars and the firm’s Future Forum events are informal and fun networking sessions inspiring and entertaining guest speakers present.
Trainees also have the opportunity to undertake a client secondment, learning more about the client’s business and sector.
Summer Placements
Burness Paull offers up to 20 6-week paid summer placements each year and these take place between June and August.
Successful applicants will work within two of the following key practice areas, Corporate, Dispute Resolution or Property & Infrastructure. There is also the opportunity to be involved in training sessions which provide an insight into all practice areas.
