Pro bono initiavites: Clyde & Co has a policy that up to 50 hours of firm-approved pro bono activities will be credited towards fee earners' billable targets. These hours will be treated as chargeable work in this context. This allowance applies to all fee earners globally. There are many pro bono opportunities, including trainee-led initiatives such as our Climate Change Group.
Training Contract
Clyde & Co recruit exclusively through the vacations scheme for the training contact. There are training contract opportunities in London, Manchester, Newcastle, Scotland and the Middle East. Across all locations there are usually between 35-45 training contracts on offer, with the majority being sat in London.
The firm is looking for candidates who combine an excellent academic track record with strong commercial acumen and a practical approach to problem-solving. Trainees need to communicate effectively and build relationships with both clients and colleagues.
You will gain early responsibility with opportunities to develop your skills through close personal supervision and a wide range of training courses. You will undertake four six-month seats, which will cover both contentious and transactional work. You may choose to be seconded to one of our international offices, or have the opportunity to undertake a client secondment. The combination of a wide variety of practice areas, local offices, international and client opportunities means you'll have the chance to have a broad range of exposure to our whole network.
Vacation Scheme
Clyde & Co offers vacation schemes during summer (London, Manchester, Scotland).
All applications are screened and candidates take part in an assessment centre day. There are a maximum of eight candidates per assessment centre. Candidates undertake a group exercise, as well as an interview with a member of the graduate team/HR and either an associate, a senior associate or a legal director.
Vacation scheme attendees spend two weeks sitting in one of the firm's departments and are allocated a supervisor, a trainee buddy and an associate mentor. There will be the opportunity to network across the firm as a variety of social events take place.

Requirements
Clyde & Co's academic criteria is set at AAB at A level with a 'strong' 2:1 degree (mitigating circumstances are taken into account alongside the Rare contextualised recruitment system), and a commendation for the GDL (if applicable) and LPC.
