Training Contract

The training contract consists of four six-month seats and there is also the opportunity to participate in client secondments. Trainees will gain experience in at least three areas of English and Welsh law, covering both contentious and non-contentious work and develop key skills in advocacy and oral presentation, case and transaction management, client care and practice support,  communication skills, dispute resolution, drafting, interviewing and advising, legal research and negotiation.

Trainees will get to work on matters from the early stages right through to the finish with exciting, cutting edge clients within the blockchain, adtech, advertising, film and TV industries as well as high profile individuals.

The firm recruits up to six trainees per year.

Salary & Benefits

The firm pays GDL and LPC course fees and also provides a maintenance grant of £6,000 per course.

Trainees receive a salary of £37,000, in the first year and £39,000 in their second year.  Benefits covered are 25 days of annual leave, free lunchroom, free fitness, yoga and massage on-site, cycle scheme, season ticket loan, life assurance, private medical insurance and pension.  As part of the wellbeing programme, the firm holds an annual hiking trip in the Lake District which is free of charge for all employees.

Requirements

A high standard of academic achievement with a minimum AAB at A level (or equivalent) and at least a 2:1 degree (or equivalent).  Candidates in their penultimate year of their degree can apply.
